Marta Garnelo


Marta is an Advisor working across home affairs and international development. Prior to joining BIT, Marta worked at MIT’s Poverty Action Lab, on the promotion of evidence-informed policy in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, and Paraguay. Marta also worked as a Project Associate at Innovations for Poverty Action, on a World Bank study looking at the quality of financial information and advice offered to low-income consumers by Peruvian financial institutions. Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University and as an Advisor at the Human Rights and Social Affairs Section of the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York. Marta holds a degree in Law and Political Science from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
