Full-Stack Developer, Ventures

Salary range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, plus benefits
Permanent: 39 hours per week
Based in Central London

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is looking for a web developer to join our growing BI Ventures team. The role will involve working closely with Product Leads to develop BIT’s digital products that use behavioural science to solve real world problems. You will initially work across Promptable, our study support programme that increases student attendance and attainment, and Networky, a system for buddying people up to chat online before they start something new, to help them settle in and increase turn-up rate. There will also be opportunities to work on the growing future pipeline of products. Successful applicants will be given time and encouragement to develop their technical skills across the stack, and will gain valuable experience in rapid prototyping, and delivering real impact for end users.

BI Ventures uses a range of mature and cutting edge technologies with an emphasis on open source: Amazon Web Services, Ubuntu, PHP, Go (or golang), and React.js. We have a lightweight DevOps approach, and we do a lot of prototyping.

Associate Advisor/Advisor for International Programmes and/ or Justice and Security Team

Salary range: Associate Advisor £25,840 – £34,960 per annum, plus benefits
Salary range: Advisor – £33,915 – £45,885 per annum, plus benefits
Permanent: 39 hours per week

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is recruiting for an Advisor or Associate Advisor to join our International Programmes and/or the Justice and Security Team. This role will support a range of projects, providing advice and project management. The successful applicant will lead aspects of projects, working to a Senior or Principal Advisor. They will also undertake discrete pieces of work (such as literature reviews, quantitative analysis or qualitative field work). Broadly speaking, they will work on two types of projects: field trials (mainly randomised control trials) and policy advice.

Head of Events & Project Manager of Behavioural Exchange 2019

Salary range:£40,000 – £45,000 per annum, plus benefits
Fixed term contract until Sept 2019, immediate start preferable
39 hours per week
Based in Westminster

The Behavioural Insights Team is looking to appoint a Head of Events to lead a growing portfolio of events, both at BIT and in collaboration with other organisations. The main focus of the role will be organising the 2019 Behavioural Exchange Conference (BX2019) in London, which will be attended by c.1,000 people.

This post will work closely with BIT’s Head of Communications, CEO of BI Ventures, and BIT’s Chief Scientist, and will work throughout the year with people from across the Behavioural Insights Team’s policy teams and overseas offices.

Chief Scientist – Director of Research and Evaluation

Salary range: £80,000 – £90,000 (negotiable) per annum, plus benefits
Permanent: 39 hours per week

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is recruiting a Chief Scientist (download job description) to lead a wide portfolio of projects at the cutting edge of our work programme in a number of areas, including quantitative and qualitative research, evaluations and data science. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding BIT’s 40 person global research community, as well as leading and managing a team and stand-alone business unit of approximately 30 research specialists in BIT’s head office in Westminster, London.
