Principal Research Advisor – Research and Evaluation

Management Accountant

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum, plus benefits

The Behavioural Insights Team is recruiting a Management Accountant to work in our Operations Team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of company finances, in a growing and dynamic organisation. Alongside a team of experienced finance and operational professionals, you will initially be responsible primarily for preparing the monthly management accounts, the annual budget and the quarterly forecasts. Additional responsibilities include treasury management and finance policy design.

You will have considerable opportunities for learning and progressing in your career – we offer both support for progressing with accounting qualifications, as well as significant “on the job” training – and provide a supportive and stimulating work environment. Advisor – Consumer Markets and Inclusion

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is recruiting for an Advisor to join our growing team to work on a range of projects applying behavioural insights to consumer markets, with a particular focus on vulnerable consumers and inclusion. As an Advisor, the successful applicant will work across a range of projects, providing expert advice and project management. They will likely lead aspects of projects, working to a Senior Advisor in the team and take responsibility for discrete pieces of work such as client management, project planning, evidence-based policy notes, and literature reviews.

Full-Stack Developer, Ventures

Salary range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, plus benefits
Permanent: 39 hours per week
Based in Central London

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is looking for a web developer to join our growing BI Ventures team. The role will involve working closely with Product Leads to develop BIT’s digital products that use behavioural science to solve real world problems. You will initially work across Promptable, our study support programme that increases student attendance and attainment, and Networky, a system for buddying people up to chat online before they start something new, to help them settle in and increase turn-up rate. There will also be opportunities to work on the growing future pipeline of products. Successful applicants will be given time and encouragement to develop their technical skills across the stack, and will gain valuable experience in rapid prototyping, and delivering real impact for end users.

BI Ventures uses a range of mature and cutting edge technologies with an emphasis on open source: Amazon Web Services, Ubuntu, PHP, Go (or golang), and React.js. We have a lightweight DevOps approach, and we do a lot of prototyping.

Associate Advisor – Education and Skills

Salary range: : £25,840 – £34,960 per annum, plus benefits

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is looking for an exceptional candidate to join as an Associate Advisor in our Education, Skills and Early Years team in London. The successful applicant will work on a range of projects applying behavioural insights to solve policy problems.

They will work to across a range of educational issues such as teacher recruitment, teacher workload, improving the home learning environment in the early years, supporting young people with their careers’ choices and engaging students with apprenticeships. As an Associate Advisor you will support a wide range of projects, providing advice and project management. You will likely lead aspects of projects working to a Senior or Principal Advisor, and will also undertake discrete pieces of work (such as literature reviews or scoping out various aspects of projects). You will help to plan and organise randomised controlled trials, conducting qualitative and desk research during explore project phases. You will also develop and suggest workable policy solutions, and prepare deliverables with a clear understanding of the overall project objectives.

The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a world-leading consulting organisation with offices in London, New York, Singapore, Wellington and Sydney. We are a trusted advisor to governments and organisations around the world. We aim to achieve social impact through the application of behavioural insights to public policy and rigorous evaluation of those insights. As an Associate Advisor you will assist in the design and delivery of projects across a broad range of policy areas, develop expertise in BI-relevant policy knowledge and/or research methodology, prepare content for and attend client meetings, deliver training and presentations and prepare draft policy papers, trial checklists, ideas notes, and literature reviews.
