Dr Joanna Weill
Joanna is an Advisor at BIT North America. Joanna works with mid-sized cities around the country through Bloomberg Philanthropies’ What Works Cities initiative. Within this project she currently manages the “Public Safety Cohort,” a group of cities who are interested in increasing the diversity of their police forces.
Joanna holds an appointment as a Research Associate at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she conducts research on incarceration, reentry, punishment, and risk factors for crime and violence.
Previously, Joanna worked in the University of California, Santa Cruz’s office of Institutional Research and Policy Studies, conducted market research, and provided direct services to currently and formerly incarcerated men and women. She holds a PhD and MS in Social Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
